Are you still looking for Sintha Neely? I was just looking around for some Neely names on a genealogy site and saw a posting of yours. Sintha was my great-great Grandmother. The story I have heard is that she had two boys by a marriage to someone named Barnes and also had two boys to David Christopher Neely. I think he died in the early 1870s and then she went in a wagon train to the Walla Walla, Washington area to join some relatives. Eventually she moved north to the Palouse area of Moscow, Idaho. I heard she died from food poisoning when she was in her 90s. I've seen a picture of her. She looks tough and weathered. She is buring in a cemetery in Moscow, Idaho.
Do you know how I can find out more about David Christopher and where he came from?
Thanks, Mark Neely

David died soon after his second son to Sintha was born in 1872. That was Frank who was my great grandfather. According to oral history, David died due to a Civil War head wound, although it was quite a few years later. His first son, listed as Christoper, was called Dudley, or 'DC' for short. When Frank was 3 years old, or maybe 6, they went West on a wagon train with other Zumwalts to join other family. She also took two boys from a previous marriage to a 'Barnes'.
Thanks again, Mark
