I CERTIFY, That the within named W. F. Bittick
a private of Captain Chas Carter's Company H of the
Second Regiment of Arks Mtd Riflemen[?], born in Pike Co
in the State of Arkansas, aged 35 years, Five feet, Nine
inches high, Dark complexion, Black eyes, Black hair, and by
profession a Farmer was enlisted by Lt Col McRae
at Crane Creek Mo on the 4th day of August 1861,
to serve One year, and is now entitled to discharge by reason of being over
age and not Subject to the ________[?]
The said W. F. Bittick was last paid by Capt W. H.
Elstner
to include the 28th day of February 1862, and has pay
due from that date to the present date. and pay is due to him at the rate of
forty
cents per day for ____________[?]
There is due to him Eighty Dollars traveling allowance
from Cumberland Gap, the place of discharge, to Hempstead County, the
place of enrolment, transportation not being furnished in kind.
There is due him One hundred Eighty eighty 80/100
He is indebted to the Confederate States Eight 3[?]/100
Dollars
on account of Clothing overdrawn
Given in duplicate at Cumberland Gap, this 24th day of
Oct 1862.
