                        The United States of America to the Sheriff of the

                        District of St. Louis ______/__________ Greeting:

We Command you that you take Francis Bitticks if he Shall be found in

your District and him safe keep So that you may have his

body before the Judges of our General Court of our territory

of Louisiana to be held in and for the Said territory at the

Town of St. Louis on the first Tusday (sic) in May Next to

answer unto Joseph Kaffer _____/_____ of a plea of trespass

on the Case ________/_____ of his Damage one thousand dollars and have

you then and there this Writ

                        Witness the honorable John B. C. Lucas Esquire

                        presiding Judge of the Said Court at St. Louis this

                        twenty third day of April in the year of our Lord

                        one thousand Eight hundred and Seven and of

                        our Independence the thirty first
