30 Mar 1864, at Rolla, Missouri, Francis C. W. Bittook [Bittick] volunteered for a 3 year term of service.  William Beesley witnessed. [Item 3, 4]  Recruiting Officer stated that Francis was 5 feet 7 inches tall with gray eyes, dark hair and fair complexion [Item 4]
 
6 Apr 1864, at Jefferson Township, Maries Co, Missouri, John R. Bittick, father of Francis C. W. Bittick, age 19, signed consent for Francis to volunteer for period of 3 years service in Army.  Asa Skaggs witnessed.  [Item 3]
