Bittick Reunion 2008

Important change in Reunion plans
Greetings to the Bittick family,
There has been a change to the meeting place for our reunion this year. Due to a miscommunication the reservations lady for the Andice communitycenter had us down for the 12th instead of the 5th. The 5th is already booked, so we had a choice of moving the reunion to the 12th or finding another place to meet. We opted for the latter.
We will be gathering at the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church this year. They have complete facilities and the price is much more
reasonable than other places we checked. You can check it out and get directions from their web site at
http://www.lhumctx.org/Directions.htm. If you don't want to do that, just go West on Hwy 29 from Georgetown to Liberty Hill and turn left onto RR1869. After crossing the railroad tracks make the next left and the church will be a short way down on your left. We'll meet at 10:00 AM as usual.
Irene Gardner is responsible for pulling our fat out of the fire on this one, and we all owe her a great debt of gratitude.
Hope to see you all on Saturday,
Johnny Bittick
When
the BLUEBONNETS are in bloom,
you
can bet it’s time for the BITTICK family to gather!
It’s
our 13th Annual Bittick Reunion
Saturday,
April 5th
at
the
Liberty Hill United Methodist Church (NOT Andice
Community Center)
10:00
a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The morning hours will give us time to look over any information
that you & others will bring, update our records, and get to know each other a little better.
We always love to see the old pictures of our family members!
We’ll have coffee and some donuts to keep us going until:
The BARBEQUE DINNER AT 12:00!
This year we have the distinct pleasure to have as our cook,
Joe Pollock, the renowned Sheriff of Burnet County.
His barbeque with his special Tin Star barbeque sauce are much in demand
and we have the good fortune to have him with us.
We’ll be having sliced beef barbeque, beans, potato salad, coleslaw & condiments
(onions, pickles, etc.) and peach cobbler. Suggested donation for the meal will be $7.50.
If you want more than peach cobbler for dessert, feel free to bring one and also your own soft drinks.
Tea, lemonade, and ice will be available. No alcoholic beverages!
Following our dinner, we will have a time to discuss
what and who is new in the family. We’ll also have our wildly-popular door prize drawings.
This year we are asking you to bring an item from your local area/town for our drawing.
We’ll also have time to visit the Bittick Cemetery. If you have not attended recently,
don’t let another year pass you by.
Several of the families will be meeting early around 5:00 p.m. on Friday
at the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church to set up, decorate, visit and have a light supper. Join us if you can.
We also have a block of rooms at the La Quinta Inn in Georgetown that you may call
for reservations. Just mention the Bittick Reunion when you call (812-869-2541).
For more information, contact Pam Baker or Johnny Bittick at the e-mail
address on the home page.
Please share this information with your family members (or bring them with you).
(Or send us their address and we’ll mail them a flyer.) Hope to see you on April 5th!
